/1 Creator Royalties

I believe in digital sovereignty. I think those that are currently in the space agree with this statement. The thing that makes NFT technology so special is that we now have the ability to have digital asset ownership in a truly decentralized manner. /2 When someone purchases an NFT, that is their property. They can do with it as they please, much the same way they can with real world assets.

I want to clear the air on the Ryan Carson investment. I committed to investing 10k into it to support someone who I believe is growing web3 awareness.

Over the last few months I’ve had a few phone calls with Ryan and felt comfortable that he made have made some mistakes in the past but learned from them, and thus was willing to support him.

The Great Liquidity Unlock

The current resale market of luxury goods and sneakers is massive and growing more each and every year.

1/16highsnobiety.com/p/gmoney-9dcc-… But the pain point with the current system in place, is that when you buy a product that you might never wear or take out of the box, it just sits in your closet. It can be difficult to sell, with high transaction costs and long lead times for delivery and payment.

Why Networked Products?

When I initially envisioned @9dccxyz, I wanted to solve for 3 things:

1. Design an aesthetic that I would want to wear
2. Create a system for verifiable scarcity
3. Build a community that would transform from the digital realm to the physical

1/14 The third pillar is what I have always found the most exciting. Up until now, I have kept my plans pretty close to my chest. Today, I plan to share some thoughts on the Networked Products 9dcc has begun shipping.

I am both humbled and honored by the response from the community. I'll be honest, when I released this NFT, I really didn't know what to expect. I am truly grateful for your belief in me, and I can't wait to see where the future takes us. /1 2/ As I stated in the manifesto, we spent alot of time figuring out the best way to distribute the token to the community. We wanted to solve for 2 things:

good distribution

no gas war

I think we executed well on that plan.

One year ago today I purchased Punk 8219 and wrote this Twitter thread explaining why:

1/15 At the time, I had under 500 followers, and I would've considered reaching 10k followers within the next year a massive success. I saw where the space was headed and I had conviction. But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine it would move as fast as it has. 2/15

1/A huge part of the NFT thesis is personal connection. Once you understand that behind all the tech and innovation, we are all just humans interacting with each other, things begin to make much more sense. 2/ Everything that is being built today is laying the foundational groundwork for how humans will interact in the future.

At our most fundamental level, we are all still just like our tribal ancestors.

The first time I spoke with .@justinaversano, he tried to sell me the Twin Flames collection for $100K. In a few hours, it will sell at @ChristiesInc for well over $1 million.

Not buying that collection, might have been the best decision I've made in crypto. /1 2/ Instead of bundling everything, I told him to keep the physicals, and just sell 100 of the NFTs individually. I thought it would take a few weeks before I heard back from him.

1/ Just How Important is the @Visa Punk Buy?

On Monday, it was announced that @visa purchased a CryptoPunk. They paid 49.5 ETH for it. Currently floor price is 127 ETH. A nice 100%+ return in less than week.

That's pretty nice. But that's not the most important point here. 2/ Yes it's a signal of greater mass adoption. Yes it helps to bring NFT's to center stage. And yes, all of us early adopters are benefiting from it.

But that just scratches the surface.

1/ The Rise of the Intelligent Punk

I've been chatting with the team over at @real_alethea over the last few weeks, and got a sneak preview into what they're doing, and I must say, it's pretty incredible. Watch the video below to see for yourself: 2/ What voice should we use?

1/ I think you raise some good points here that the team is more capable of answering than I am.

From my conversations with them, the goal is to become fully decentralized over time. The reason why I'm willing to bet on @whatsyouryat is the following: 2/ They created a great user experience, which I've seen be a key component to success in projects in the space.

They aren't focused just on acquiring just crypto native users, which I think will be the key for real, long term success.

1/ A Few Thoughts on @whatsyouryat

If there's ONE thing every project should take away from 1Q21, it's that UX matters. The most explosive, and popular platforms of the last 90 days are @nbatopshot and @niftygateway. It's not even close. 2/ What do these projects do right? They give users a very similar experience to what they have today with Web2, while working towards Web3 architecture. Yeah they're centralized. Today. But is that the long term plan? Doubt it.

1/ Scale

This past week, a TradFi person asked me, "How do I own 25% of the next Graph?" I told him, "You don't. That's not what the blockchain ethos is about. If you owned 25% of some protocol, it would most likely be worthless." But this got me thinking. 2/ For the last 2 decades, one of the most repeated buzzwords by founders and management teams has been the word SCALE. And rightfully so. People want to maximize efficiency. The faster you get to scale, the more profitable you will be.

1/ When people ask me, "What are the possibilities with NFT's?", I tell them it allows people to be as creative as they want to be.

The next evolution isn't just for art, it's for anybody that is creative enough. Let's take a look at some that popped up on my feed recently: 2/ Subscription to a weekly magazine with commemorative covers:

1/ The Metaverse Isn't Coming...

It's already here. 2/ When people think of the metaverse, they think of places like @decentraland and @cryptovoxels, and think it's going to be years before we're living in the metaverse. But that couldn't be farther from the truth.

1/ The beeple Christies Auction and how to be part of history.

@beeple made history in Dec when he did $4 million in sales over a weekend. The open editions have been freely trading since then, but all of the 1 of 1's, were bought by @MetaKovan. 2/ He then packaged all the 1/1's into B20, where owners of the token would own a piece of the 20 originals, as well as the museum they are located in in the Metaverse. More info on that here: b20.whalestreet.xyz

1/ A Thread about NFT Patronage

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed @TwerkyPepe commenting on my posts, and posting his funny twerky gif's. Each time I saw one of these variations I would laugh, as I found them to be pretty funny. 2/ So I decided to reach out to him, and asked him if he wanted to collab and do one of my ape. He accepted and began to make a version for our drop together. When it came time for the drop, I tweeted about it a few hours before.

1/ How "sticky" will the metaverse be?

Alot of DeFi projects have spent their Customer Acquisition Budget on attracting capital that flees as soon as the rewards period ends. The question then becomes, will the same thing happen in the metaverse? 2/ Especially as more and more cross-game utilization of NFT assets begins to happen, one would think that the same flight of capital chasing yield, will happen in the metaverse with users.

1/ I fell into the NFT space by accident. I was on twitter and I saw someone tweet about a @CryptoKitties shard that would trade as $LICK on @NIFTEXdotcom and how it was going to 3x real quick bc it was so undervalued.

#30daysofnft 2/ After some quick DD(which admittedly wasn't much), I decided to put some eth in at a 50 eth valuation. Was planning on being out within the week with some healthy profits. That however didn't turn out to be the case.

1/ Why did I purchase a 24 x 24 pixel image yesterday for 140 ETH?!??! (a record in USD) 2/ The world is without a doubt moving more digital over the next few years/decades. Covid has def accelerated this transition, but there is still some work to done, specifically on the tech side of things.
