one (of the many) dharma lessons that I think would benefit a lot of organizer/activist do-gooder types is the "path of method" and "path of release." The Path of Method requires a lot of concerted energy and focus- studying and practicing teachings to internalize them (thread). We're really trained into the path of method- I haven't really met anyone in the movement who doesn't work their asses off and try to figure out the most effective ways to organize. harriet tubman freed an incredible amount of enslaved people, was a woman, a fugitive herself, AND after the fugitive slave law was passed. She went back countless times to free folks, incl almost her entire family

but shit really gets weird when she’s a medic for the union Because not only did she do all that work as an abductor for the Underground Railroad, she cared for and healed countless soldiers and freed folk suffering from terrible wounds and illnesses (that were responsible for 2/3rds of deaths throughout the war)

this man is suffering and is in need of help—or a shred of kindness and basic human decency at least. People on the margins should be embraced and cared, not ruthlessly demonized pushed further away for daring to show up in front of us I’m so sorry for whatever happened to the person who posted this that has made their heart so cold. You don’t deserve to be so cruel, and no one deserves to be a target of your cruelty. Bullying this man won’t fix whatever’s happening with you
