It generates Python scripts to answer your question, then auto-executes them in the cwd. You will not believe how capable this simple pattern is. Rawdogging gpt-4 from the command line.

BIOSPHERE 2 MEGATHREAD
Could humans maintain an ecosystem on the Moon or Mars?
In 1991, 8 researchers locked themselves inside this 3.14-acre sealed structure in the Arizona desert for 2 years to test just that. It remains the largest and longest experiment of its kind, ever. 1/
Biosphere 2 was built to be an isolated, self-sufficient ecosystem, modelled after the Earth itself (“Biosphere 1”), to inspire a next generation of explorers. Considered a success by many, it did NOT go according to plan. Let’s look at the design, the mission and the science. 2/

STANFORD TORUS MEGATHREAD
You’ve seen the pictures, but you probably don’t know the full story.
It's the result of a 10-week engineering study at Stanford University in 1975, funded by NASA and led by Girard O’Neill - the most thorough study on free-space settlement to date. 1/
The Torus (donut-shape) has a 130m tube diameter and a 1800m total diameter, rotating at 1 RPM to produce earth-normal gravity. It includes everything needed to support 10,000 people working and living in space, indefinitely.
Let’s go through design considerations one by one. 2/

THE ASTRAL PONTIFF
Matteo Bianchi was born in Rome, Italy in 1975. As a child, he was equally affected by the feeling of awe at attending Vatican mass, and the science fiction stories his father read him before bedtime. 1/9
As a boy, he would steal away in the middle of the night to gaze at the stars, pondering the relationship between humanity, God and the cosmos. He went on to study physics and theology, completing a double major at the Pontifical Gregorian University. 2/9

The Catholic Church has the potential to become the most powerful institution on earth, again. Here is why.
1) AI will make UBI a necessity. CC has systems in place and a proven track record of charitable giving and redistribution.
1/2) Global coordination, not governance. Nations want to retain independence, but need coordination. CC is least-distrusted global institution.
3) Aesthetics. Architecture. Rituals. CC has been hill-climbing spiritual resonance for centuries and still rips (puffy coat pope?)
