We’re being sued by Big Oil @EnergyTransfer for $300 million. It’s an abusive lawsuit designed to end Greenpeace’s 50-year legacy of environmental activism. But it’s not just a threat to our existence. Learn more: @EnergyTransfer Energy Transfer built the infamous Dakota Access Pipeline. You’ll remember that in 2016, Indigenous organizers led one of the most powerful protests in modern history at Standing Rock. #NoDAPL

Greenpeace USA is facing an existential threat from corporations that don’t want us to exist, but today we’re bringing our story to Congress.

Yesterday, GPUSA and hundreds of Wet’suwet’en frontline and solidarity activists organizing against Coastal GasLink pipeline were blocked from @Facebook due to a May 7 event targeting @KKR_Co, major pipeline funder -- project opposed by all of the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs. Some accounts have been reinstated after many demands of @Facebook, but many remain blocked from using the platform. The social media giant has not explained why this happened on such a large scale or why we’ve been targeted. We want action and answers now.

Why are we here? Only 100 companies are responsible for 71% of global carbon emissions since 1988. #PeopleVsOil (1/7) Many of the refineries here are operated by some of those very companies, like ExxonMobil, BP, Chevron, and Shell. #PeoplevsOil (2/7) bit.ly/2ue11eC

(1) So why did we bring these swamp creatures to David Bernhardt's confirmation hearing for Interior Secretary this morning? Well... Bernhardt is a former oil and gas lobbyist who previously worked to help corporate polluters get their hands on public lands. (2) Now he's about to become head of the Interior Department — which would put him in charge of the very same public lands and waters that he worked to get access to as an oil & gas lobbyist.
