Not here

The facts in the 303 case were stipulated, meaning both sides agreed to them and the Court is required to take them as true for purposes of making its decision

1/ You can have a judgment set aside under Rule 60(b)(2) for "newly discovered evidence that, with reasonable diligence, could not have been discovered"

But – as the media coverage shows – that evidence *could* have been discovered with reasonable diligence

::low whistle::

Someone done fucked up It amuses me to no end that every legal professional involved on the employees' side of this linked together via the Threadnought

It's like an honest-to-God Lawyer Voltron™ assembling to disembowel the bad guy

This chart explains a lot 😂

I'm also basically alone in the bottom right quadrant 😔 Maybe. It fits well with my admittedly anecdotal view of election results nationally and locally though

Love making it easier for dirty cops to stalk their victims in real-time

wral.com/story/nc-bill-… These days it tends to be the latter

It's very "Government is good when it has a badge"

This lawsuit is superbly written

Read it for yourself here: documentcloud.org/documents/2378…

Pour one out for the poor bastard who had to read DeKlantis's memoir for evidence though 🫡 Also, you might recall a certain lawyer mentioned the Takings Clause issue -- which you'll notice is alleged ahead of the First Amendment issues:

::low whistle:: That gives Wisconsin Dems 2 of the 3 branches. And may even jeopardize the Legislature's hard-right gerrymander.

And reduces the likelihood of votes being overturned in 2024

Rs really blew that one

🍆 Officially, I have no idea

Unofficially, it's been widely rumored for the better part of a year now that there has been a relationship between the Rep and the Speaker

She was the first person several ppl thought of when Jim Blaine tweeted on Nov 8th that 1-3 Ds would switch

Image California actually requires you to take the bar exam. Not sure I have the patience to study for it again just to have a vanity license I never use

Separate from the RAP clause, the bare-knuckled savagery of this move gives me warm fuzzies

If it's upheld, I would like to buy every member of the legal team who crafted it a bottle of liquor as a token of respect Also, fuck Ron DeKlantis

FYI: beginning this Saturday, the "legacy" blue checks will disappear

Idk how many of you rely on that to confirm you're following the right Greg Doucette, but thought I'd share just in case 😂 I can't envision a scenario where I would pay Elmo a monthly fee, so there will be no check here

Lawyers from the "elite" schools don't know what they're doing either Also a non-trivial % of them produce absolutely sh*t work product that would get any Tier 4 law grad fired without a second thought

Looks like I already had that account blocked, so I assume it was renamed from one of the assorted Mignogna CHUDlets

The cite to South Carolina did make me chuckle though (I'm not from South Carolina)

Went down to WDW for a few days to celebrate my impending birthday

I am already *profoundly* sunburnt 😂 Weather was moderate, stood in shaded areas most of the day, fully clothed -- didn't even think about needing sunblock

Not making that mistake tomorrow 🙃

As entertaining as this would be, Reynolds v Sims (377 US 533 (1964)) ruled this out more than half a century ago -- a case about this very thing

"Legislators represent people, not trees or acres. Legislators are elected by voters, not farms or cities or economic interests." This type of performative sh*t is why I can't go back to being an R, and am effectively held hostage by NC Dems who are simply not prepared for the gravity of electoral work cut out for them

DoNotPay didn't have their "AI lawyer" handle it?

Color me shocked Also, it's kinda weird to argue everything @KathrynTewson said is speculative opinions, but also somehow defamatory

That's not how defamation works, hoss

I've said a few times now that DeKlantis is less of a threat than Trump, because he has the personality of a turnip and no one likes him except the people who get paid for liking him

It makes him self-limiting in a way Trump is not Nah, this is wishful thinking

Trump had the worst 4-year run of any modern President except maybe Carter, and in 2020 there were 74,223,975 people who looked at him and his record and said "give me 4 for more years of that guy!"

Honestly drawing a blank Sad that I missed the "buy and enshittify" rhyme that was staring me in the face 🤦‍♂️
