1/ I was there in Switzerland to discuss with Glencore how my firm could help their metal commodity trading division to better protect themselves from volatility in the metals market.

I soon realized that I, the African, was there to help them make more money from Africa. 2/ This was 4 years ago. They inspired me to go figure out how to generate value in African Mining because they were making a killing doing it. And it was not clear that much of what they were making was staying in Africa.

I have met 5 Forbes list billionaires in my life. My favorite is a man by the name of “Seth Merrin.” Look him up.

He started his story this way:

“I’m lucky my dad paid my way at Tufts. I am lucky he let me experiment with the ideas I had and even gave me startup money.” I don’t remember the amount. I wanna say $50K in like the early 90s. Definitely not life changing money but definitely enough to give you run away.

He talks openly about this part of his story because he doesn’t need to worshiped as hero with exceptional abilities.
