Why Vijayawada Floods Are a Man-Made Disaster
The primary cause of flooding in Vijayawada is the overflowing of the Budameru, not a breach. (breach happened on Sep 3, not before). It's called “The Sorrow of Vijayawada.” To mitigate this, the Budameru Diversion Channel (BDC) is used to redirect the Budameru flow into the Krishna River. In this context, the blue line represents the Budameru, while the yellow line indicates the Polavaram Right Main Canal (BDC) Budameru is dammed at Velagaleru. From here, it is supposed to flow into the Krishna River. The picture shows the gates near Velagaleru. The original plan was to prevent Budameru from entering the interior areas of Vijayawada.

TG state's actual Debt/GSDP stands at 38.10
