Ex-teachers probably won’t come flooding back into the classroom because: 1. They’re often highly vulnerable 2. They left because they could no longer justify the stress caused by the job 3. They were ready to retire and haven’t the energy or will to work 4. They have a new job
There can’t be many teachers who left the job who don’t fit into at least one of these categories.
So, @educationgovuk, where are all of these ex-teachers coming from?
It’s time you made the profession more attractive to work in.
