A US military document I found confirms there is no difference between a PSYOP & MISO (see thread below).

I've theorized the definition/acronym change was to make the use of PSYOPs more acceptable/widely used by the US government (possibly domestically).

usar.army.mil/Portals/98/Doc… US government took action to make PSYOPS more palatable when, after & as:

Smith-Mundt Modernization Act expanded:

usagm.gov/who-we-are/ove…

Online communication & content consumption is largely centralized

Speed of online content creation/delivery exponentially improves

Etc.

Increased online/digital surveillance hasn't made us any safer.

Surveillance will keep increasing though.

2013: Reddit's official blog says it receives a huge amount of traffic (100K+ visits) via Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, US.

web.archive.org/web/2016060404…

2014: Eglin Air Force Base personnel release a paper on running Information Operations via social media.

arxiv.org/pdf/1402.5644.… About Eglin Air Force Base personnel/programs being caught using Reddit for Information Operations (see post above):

The official Reddit blog post & the other online articles reporting on this issue seem to have largely disappeared from the Internet.

I think Carbyne is fast becoming a leading privacy/surveillance threat in the US

Read my thread below, then consider:

Peter Thiel's involvement

Recent partnerships (image), which dont include one for likely drone integrations

#CyberpunkisNow Vehicle thieves in the US & Canada are attaching Apple Airtags to vehicles they're interested in stealing

This allows the thieves to track vehicles via a smartphone & choose the most opportune time to steal them

fox2detroit.com/news/man-finds…

globalnews.ca/news/8440316/a… #CyberpunkisNow Apple Airtags are a deeply concerning surveillance technology: they're cheap (4 for $99, 1 for $29), easily attainable, effective & relatively simple to use.

Less then a year after release, there's evidence they've been used for stalking:

Major US city law enforcement departments like the LAPD now have automated, custom stacks for mass surveillance programs that leverage software/solutions like Palantir, LexisNexis, local Fusion Center resources, etc.

I found LAPD documents proving this:

medium.com/@hackermaderas… I bet similar surveillance programs are used by many LE departments in major cities in 14/9/5 Eyes nations

They likely feed government databases like those used by US government's Operation Whistle Pig to discredit whistle blowers & manipulate the media

Take a good look at that image of US contractor data below from market research site GOVTribe.

Shadownet is tech created by Dynology for the US government thats rumored to be used to weaponize/collect Internet data for use in influence operations/psyops

Further confirmation of ShadowNet's existence via 'Department of Defense Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Budget Estimates, March 2019'

ShadowNet 'experimentation' looks like its funded until at least 2024; it cost (approx) $150 million in 2020, $108million in 2021
