I have a new article out with @DrCarynPeiffer, @PakRosi & Pius Gumisiriza on âLessons from reducing bribery in Ugandaâs health servicesâ. The case is a 'sort of success' raising important questions about anti-corruption interventions as ends or as means.

Our research shows how almost half of all people who made contact with the health sector in Uganda in 2010 paid a bribe, but by 2015 this rate was just 25% - an unprecedented reduction in such a short time frame.

A short thread on academic workloads & the #UCUstrike.
Itâs not just that academics are now expected to teach exponentially growing numbers of students, publish extensively, win large research grants, engage with policy makers, blog, go on TV and the radio, write op-eds...
...mentor colleagues, chair committees, peer review papers/books/research proposals, give talks, manage budgets, manage people & projects...and so on, often with little training.
Itâs that the processes that underpin these have become increasingly complex for unclear reasons.
