NATO's newest member will start production of a fleet of new multi-purpose frigates before the end of the year! The multi-role corvettes will be capable of anti-surface warfare (ASuW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and minelaying.

Finland has already selected Israel Aerospace Industries' Gabriel anti-ship missile, BAE's 57mm gun, Saab's Torped 47 lightweight torpedo and the Raytheon ESSM.

In a now-deleted web post, the Bundeswehr detailed how the German Navy must prepare for future conflicts, describing the shape of its fleet and a need for large numbers of uncrewed systems.
