I think the folks pointing to the Packers and Matt LaFleur leading a revival of that team have a point, but I don't think it's what most folks claim it to be.

Let's separate fact from fiction about that coaching change to help inform Seattle's next move...a thread The general narrative is that Aaron Rodgers was struggling and that LeFleur came in after many years of Mike McCarthy and lifted the team to resurgent success on the back of an passing game reaching new heights. That is only partially true.

So I keep hearing this inaccurate narrative of what happened last year in the second half of the season. It goes something like, "Pete Carroll stopped letting Russ cook because of turnovers and reverted to running instead of passing." Here are facts --> 2020 Season
First 8 games:
SEA neutral script early down pass rate: 63%
NFL Rank: 1st (they passed most often in these situations)

Final 8 games:
SEA neutral script early down pass rate: 59.2%
NFL Rank: 6th

As many Seahawks fans, I’ve been thinking a lot about where things go from here and have been trying to listen as much, or more, then I’ve been talking about the Pete, Russ, John situation. I heard some things today that impacted my thinking. A thread… The @Hasselbeck show with @TheMikeSalk is probably the best hour on Seattle sports radio each week the last few months. I’ve listened to every one. Matt has gone out of his way to be respectful to everyone involved in the Seahawks situation. He was super clear this week though.

THREAD: Was curious to dig a little deeper at Russell Wilson on 3rd down after seeing @AllbrightNFL's tweet yesterday that was alarming about how Wilson has performed on that down this season. The following are few tidbits 3rd down has been Wilson's worst down throughout his career. It looks nothing like his other downs. His interception and sack rate go up, and his completion rate go down.
