Staff at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust have been exploring the use of mixed-reality in a pilot of Microsoft’s HoloLens on its COVID-19 wards.

Yesterday in a session with MPs on the Commons science and technology committee, Matthew Gould, CEO, NHSX said the first version of the contact tracing app will be ready in two to three weeks thehtn.co.uk/2020/04/29/con… Gould said the app will be trialed in a small area, and if it performed well, it will be ready when the country is looking to ease lockdown measures.

A new 3D printing farm has delivered its first face shields at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS FT.

@NHSEngland @NHSX The trust, in collaboration with 3D companies and enthusiasts, has produced face shields to be worn by frontline staff, using 3D printing technology.

Using over 200 printers around the clock, the trust said it is able to produce roughly 1,500 shields each day.
