We had the Labour parties #budget yesterday, here’s the summary you’ve been waiting for!
1. STAMP DUTY 🧾🏡
SDLT surcharge for second-homes, has increased from 2% to 5% as of TODAY!
This will DESTROY Buy-To-Lets AND/OR 2nd home owners & will ultimately impact rental supply!
2. CAPITAL GAINS TAX 📈
- 🆙 from 10% to 18% for basic rate
- 🆙 from 20% to 24% for higher & additional rate
Rates on property gains remains the same!
Fortunately this does not YET affect investments made through your ISA’s. I say “yet” because who knows with this lot…🤦🏾♂️
