It takes a very STEELY CONVICTION to tell someone that you LOVE DEEPLY, that as much as you LOVE them, you’re not afraid to walk away from that relationship. Because staying in conformity w/ God’s purpose for your life is of paramount importance to you.

Are you kidding me right now? Respectfully, have YOU taken the time to study HOW mRNA-based vaccines ACTUALLY work? This is not your typical cough syrup situation. I have STUDIED & given GUEST LECTURES on mRNAs & their MOA. Please trust & believe me, ppl NEED to know this stuff!!
I SO respect & appreciate @ZJAyres sharing this today. There is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY nothing wrong with taking medication to improve your #mentalhealth . I used to be vehemently opposed to taking psychotropic medication…
because of stigma & my Christian upbringing. NOW, based on my own lived experiences & through seeking out EXTENSIVE knowledge in the #mentalhealth space, I have a VERY different view of #mentalhealth & medications than most followers of Christ do.

This is a heavy one. As I rebuild my life, God is helping me to unlearn this mindset of blindly tolerating the disrespect of institutions & the people that run these institutions. A prime example are institutions of higher education.
Now, there are several reasons why I tolerated the high level of blatant disrespect from my research advisor for so long, to the point of eventually BREAKING myself. COMPLETELY. And guess what? NONE of the “institutionalists” offered ANY help.

In my experience, I’ve found that the weight of feeling as though one has disappointed God, is a far heavier burden to carry, & has far more deleterious effects on the soul than being in a state of anger towards God. The feelings of disappointment may stem from a place of …
feeling as though, despite God’s faithfulness & magnificent blessings that He has bestowed upon us, we still continue to fall short. That one continues to not meet God’s standard in a certain area or to not complete the work that He has so graciously paved the way for us to do.

I just finished reading this think piece from @WhitlockJason. Quite disingenuous, IMHO. I always appreciate @WhitlockJason’s take on the most pressing issues of the day, but this one is a hard “no” from me.
As I said before, I am no fan of identity politics - it has cost me a lot in my career. So I, personally, don’t care for it. That being said, based on my understanding of the Nichols-Taylor situation at @espn , @MariaTaylor is well within her rights to be offended…

As an underrepresented minority (URM), who spent OVER a DECADE in the US STEM educational system, I have some thoughts on this. 🧵🧵🧵
While I agree with the spirit of the message/call to action put forth here by Profs. @Lola_UMich & Hana El-Samad, as an underrepresented minority, I'd ask that we redirect our focus, as least in the near term to the powers that oversee these STEM departments at these US STEM..

A Pattern for Prayer || Effective Prayer || James 5:15 || Morning Devotional || July 3, 2021
Happy Saturday, my beloved family! In today’s devotional, we are encouraged to pray in faith for anyone who is sick among us. The word of God says that this specific prayer will bring healing to the sick & they will rise to new life. How amazing is that?? 🤯

I feel you on this 💯. The reality is that there actually IS a lot that others can do to help alleviate mental health issues. For one, the societal stigma which surrounds mental health IS NOT the same for cancer. At all. What I’ve found is that a lot of the hopelessness that…
precedes suicide is heavily related to the ways in which society perceives the individual suffering from MH issues. The individual feels like a lost cause, because often times, society TELLS them that they are. They’re told they can’t work again because they’re unstable.

IDK why people are trying to racialize Sha‘Carri’s suspension! Guys, it LITERALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HER BEING BLACK!! She BROKE a rule & there are CONSEQUENCES for that. That‘s all this is!! It has NOTHING to do with race!!! Sheeeeeeesh!!! 😬
Now, we can have a discussion around WHY the rule is the rule & whether that should be changed. But as of today, July 2, 2021, it’s STILL a rule!!

Happy July, beloved family! 🌻
I woke up today, on this beautiful Thursday morning with these words HEAVY in my spirit. Beloved, whatever it is that you are going through right now, be comforted in knowing that our GOD is DEEPLY & INTIMATELY acquainted with your pain & suffering
Keep leaning on His everlasting arms. ❤️
Unpopular opinion incoming, but I think it gets to the heart of what’s happening here. I was always fascinated by the culture of self-deprecation that seems to be commonplace in the US. I was taught growing up to speak WORDS OF LIFE over myself, NOT words of hurt. 1/7
In the US, I’ve found that SOME people refer to themselves in the MOST demeaning ways. &Trust me,I get it, but only to a certain extent. You are “taking back your power, controlling the narrative, & all these things.” But it still somehow never quite sat right with my spirit. 2/7
