h/t to @mydoghasagun for finding the Lathrop, CA site and to @paul91701736 for the aerial photos. there's some debate whether Tesla's use of the site is part of a well-planned logistics strategy (electrek's take) or a desperate measure to store unsold / incomplete cars (my take). were an established, $50B+ market cap car company to need a large piece of land to store cars as a routine step in its logistics plan, it might likely secure that land well in advance of when it needs it - it does not appear $tsla secured the Lathrop site very far in advance.
