We converted 5% of all of our company's cash into BTC. It's a hedge, not an investment. This seems to be a cheap hedge. If hyperinflation or some other drastic event were to occur within the next 18 months this would pose a new existential risk for a pre-revenue company like ours.

Funny that you’d say that @balajis… we just designed a new algo. It calculates influence scores for individual tweets.

The scores for individual tweets are going to be available via API. One can query it for a score of a given tweet for any of the clusters we track. We will also provide influence half-life time of each tweet.

.@InvestorIndex1 created a list similar to ours, but just with venture investors (both individuals & firms).

We think that this is going to be useful to projects focused on a specific communities. This way they can identify investors who can be really helpful.

They are usually followed by the most successful founders and well-known 'whales', who hold a significant portion of an overall supply of a given coin.

We just updated the results and @udiWertheimer is the fastest growing among the top 300. Again. His influence has been growing fast for a couple of weeks now.

We couldn’t figure out why. So we asked him. This lead us down a rabbit hole. (thread👇) Udi thinks that this might have started with this old post:

He had described backdoors that were later used in @Bancor’s hack. This gave this piece a second life and Udi’s numbers took off.

What’s puzzling is that this kept on for such a long time.

Hey @twobitidiot we checked which of the most influential accounts in crypto suffered from Twitter follower purge!

First, unsurprisingly, truly influential people were not affected much. Large drops seem to be more correlated with having a big number of followers in total. .@fredwilson was the most affected among the top 300 from cryptoinfluencers.io. He lost -16987 followers, but this is merely 2.5% of his total follower count.

The drop was more significant for @joeykrug, who lost -9596, but that’s 40% of his current follower count.

We updated the results again.

We just updated cryptoinfluencers.io with new rank results.

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us as we’ve been busy building up infrastructure. We’re now updating every week! Our results got more accurate. We doubled the number of data points our algorithm is taking into account. We’ll keep growing that number.

1/ We’d like to address concerns about missing influencers on our lists: @bytemaster7 (Daniel Larimer), @bgarlinghouse, @binance_2017. First of all, we heard you and we recognize that this is odd. We are investigating this and we will be transparent about the process. 2/ We have a couple of theories already, but we need time to test them. Currently, we are focused on building up our infrastructure so that we can handle 100x more data. This is going to improve accuracy a lot, but it takes time. We ask for your patience.

1/ We just published a new list: 300 most influential brands in crypto on cryptoinfluencers.io. It’s experimental and we’d love to know if this is useful to you! 2/ The list was produced by multiplying the number of followers by the average follower influence score. This methodology can be improved and it's the first version of the list. So take these results with the grain of salt. However, it already gives some interesting insights!
