Running Midjourney random style reference by batch of 10 is my new hyper fixation.

I've rolled the dice hundreds of times over the past few days. And I think it's fair to say that I have won a lot!

The target was mostly 35mm photography, so the prompts were oriented in that direction

🧵 Here are some of the most beautiful sref that I got today:Image

VHS Glitch with Midjourney Style Reference!

If you ever tried to create images with grain of VHS glitch, you know how hard it is to get that characteristic noise/scan lines out of Midjourney.

Well, not anymore!

Thanks to the Style Reference feature, we can use textures as ref and apply them to the output without having to manually do it in Photoshop.

Obviously it is not a 1:1 reproduction of the texture, but Midjourney does a really great job at reproducing the overall vibe.

↓ The textures, as well as the prompts, can be found in the first replies of this post!Image 💬 VHS still frame capturing a joyful 4th of July in a stereotypical American family, circa 1960 --ar 3:4 --style raw --sref --sw 50 s.mj.run/vUnXY8Fi1b8

BURNT LOOK WITH MIDJOURNEY

While testing the latest version of the Style Reference release on March 22nd, an "happy accident" happened and gave me this amazing look!

I had no other choice than sharing it with you!

→ Playing with the --sw (style weight) will drastically change the way the reference is applied to the image, but with as low as 25, you can still get a good balance between prompt coherence and style reference.

↓ All the prompts with references are in the replies ↓Image 💬 35mm photo capturing a gorgeous woman at the gas station. Shot at night on expired slide film with faded shadows, analog iridescent halation --ar 3:4 --style raw --sref s.mj.run/wCB4ScgsSA4

SWAP FACES IN MIDJOURNEY

To achieve this, we will make use of 2 of Midjourney's key features:
- Character References (--cref)
- Regional Variation (Vary Region)

→ Full disclosure, this method was initially introduced to me by @creacas_ai with his post about character consistency.

🧵↓ Follow the 3 steps guideImage First, we need to generate our base image. This is the image that we will apply the regional variation to.

MASTER SHADOWS IN MIDJOURNEY

Shadows are, in my opinion, one of the most (if not the most) important element of a photography.

To help you, I've made a list of tokens that you can include in your prompts:
- Soft shadows
- Silhouette
- Backlit (more of a lighting technique, but does also produce amazing shadows)
- Dramatic high-contrast
- Selective shadows
- Environmental shadows
- Tinted shadows
...

→ Pair that with a good lighting setup and you are guaranteed to get astonishing results!

Generate very specific outfits with Midjourney
🧵 Prompting Guide

In this guide I'll teach you the basics of prompting for a very specific outfit look in Midjourney v6

Here are the 3 steps that we will go through:
- Create the base prompt
- Specify the desired outfit elements
- Add details like branding and/or specific pattern

Let's dive in ↓Image First, we create a global image with a "standard" prompt of our likings.

I've used the following:
💬 analog style photo of a gorgeous woman walking out of a mall --ar 2:3 --style raw

This will give us our base line to work with. We can even use it later as style reference of using the same seed if we want. For this particular case I decided not to use style reference.Image

35mm Film Negative exploration with Midjourney

One of my all time favorite set of tokens, you can use with complex prompts:
💬 35mm photo from an artic exploration. Featuring a gorgeous woman in flashy pink snow suit walking on a snow-covered road with a village in the background. during a beautiful sunny day. In the style of National Geographic --ar 2:3 --style raw

And with simpler ones:
💬 35mm color film negative photo of a gorgeous brunette woman, urban environment. Halation, film grain and light leaks --ar 2:3 --style raw

It's a very versatile set of tokens that I really advise you to try if you don't already have!

You can in the beginning of your prompt, of later when you are defining the camera/film.
After some extensive use of this token, I found that I got the best results when mentioning it right away, but you can also conclude your prompts with something like:
💬 ... Shot on 35mm film

And it will also work.

↓ I have included a few more examples of the versatility of the token, as well as the stunning results that it creates.Image 💬 35mm color negative film photo capturing the silhouette of a lovely couple on a park bench --ar 2:3 --style raw Image

In architecture photography, it's all about framing your shot just right, playing with light to bring out the details, finding interesting angles, capturing those little design touches, and showing how buildings fit into the world around them.

In this guide, I'll be sharing some of my favorite tokens when it comes to architecture photography with Midjourney

There are 5 key elements to consider when prompting:
