With the Masters golf tournament going on, I started researching it’s history and found a connection to the phenomenon of World’s Fairs and Expositions. In 1888, the city of Augusta had its own exposition. Of course, none of the structures survived but some clues did. Image They called the event the “Augusta National Exposition” - which is interesting because The Masters tournament is held every year at the Augusta National Golf Club.

Although the history is obscured, there appears to be a link between the 1888 event and The Masters. Image
