One of my good friends runs the marketing department for the law firm that does all the legal work for the church and booooooy howdy, this is absolutely the attitude of a lot of people and many GAs. The more I learn about the day to day workings of the LDS church, the more horrified I am and the more I do feel like I want to be a part of fixing it.

No joke.

His PhD was in non woven tech, but he was plenty comfy with all kinds of fabric. The church offered him a pittance for his skill set and connections to India, so he worked for them for free. The previous person in his @calvinjburke @CalvinKlein position was a bookseller, and we had samples that we were sending to SLC the morning that we went to go see his body.

Obviously, it didn’t work out.

The distinct whiteness of Mormonism, and specifically the whiteness of the voices that have such sway in progressive Mormonism, is depressing me tonight (thread): It’s a distinct challenge that I see so much of. Many of these white voices in progressive Mormonism are good voices, but the nuance and threads of color that are missing hurt the choir’s message.
