My daughter and I attended the vigil tonight in London. Turns out it wasn’t a vigil to remember and mourn the Afzaal family. It was a political event where our “leaders” stood before a grieving community and did NOT speak of the family but spoke about racism and terrorism. It felt disingenuous and incredibly disrespectful. Until those asshats opened their mouths though, we experienced a community coming together, in love, to support this family. People lined Oxford St holding cards and signs with one word on them. LOVE ❤️
