My adhd life hack for those of us who work during the day and get home in the evening:

Get ready for bed as soon as you get home. Doesn’t matter if it’s only 5-6pm. Don’t sit down or start any other task. Change into comfy clothes, do your skincare routine, brush your teeth. Literally if I wait to get ready for bed until I’m ready to go to bed, I will procrastinate until 2am because I *don’t want to do tasks I just want to sleep and therefore won’t move to go to bed at all because*

But if I just do it as soon as I’m home…

Seeing terfs claim that it’s common and normal (“everyone has had to do it at least once!”) for people who menstruate to have to take off their underwear and pants in a public restroom to wash the blood off in the sink is. Mind boggling. Fascinating. Lunacy. I’m aghast. 1. No?????

You know how the “no reflection for vampires” thing came about because mirrors used to be backed by silver?

I’m just imagining an ancient vampire catching his reflection in an aluminum backed mirror for the first time and SHRIEKING in shock Or opposite
How most lore these days say no reflection whatsoever, from mirrors to windows to cameras—what if portraits couldn’t even be made of them? A painter tries and the rest of the painting is fine but any time they try to recreate the vamp’s appearance the paint slides off

When they announced the Ariel casting I was working at a school, and a little girl with red braids told me I looked like Ariel and I said “So do you!” and showed her a picture of Halle and she was so taken aback it was clear she almost didn’t believe me at first but then— she grabbed my hand and said “Then we can both be Ariel!” and I just hope she got the see the movie this weekend and loved it 😭

I remember once in music theory, I asked my professor what musical notation in other cultures looked like. He asked what I meant, and I was like “well, obviously we standardized this at some point— so what did sheet music look like in non-European countries?” He did not know. ANYWAY you can find some examples of ancient/other cultural musical notation on Google but I can’t find very much of it, so if anyone knows more about this please tell me because I am fascinated!!!
