1 Weird Tick to Reduce your AWS S3 cost by 87% in a couple of minutes, and without hiring a AWS expert!

I only figured this out a few days ago.

I optimised storage cost but still had 4TB stuck on Standard.

Then checked storage on all objects in bucket - and it was only 600GB???

Turns out - AWS does not auto delete incomplete multi part uploads. 🙈 doh!! should probably have known or paid more attention.

But now you know!

Step by step included below.

What other gotchas do AWS have like this?
1. Check total bucket size vs object total size

- Access your s3 bucket in AWS console
- Go to metrics tab and note total storage
- Go to object tab and select all objects
- Actions > Calculate total size

The difference between the two (4TB in my case) may be failed multi part uploads.

Been using Cursor Background agents intensively for the last week.

When it fails to create the agent, it shows the build logs straight away.

But when it builds ok - you wont see them. Spend ages looking, and this seems to be the only way.

Rightclick the background agent tab, and click "Show Build Logs"

Cursor 0.43 update is rolling out.

Im quickly checking out each of the new features here in this post. First up of course - the new Composer agent!!

This is how you enable it.

1. Enable it in your composer chat window

or

2. Set the Enable Tools option in Settings > Editor > Chat & Composer
