An Israeli sniper from Chicago, after killing a 19-year-old and then shooting his brother for trying to retrieve the body: "What was so important about that corpse?”

Those were 2 of the 4 members of the same family killed by Israeli snipers on a single day in Gaza, Nov 2023. Image Unbelievable quote: Image

🧵Israel’s Supreme Court, which rarely challenges the country’s war conduct, ruled today that the government is failing to give Palestinian prisoners enough food to ensure a “basic level of existence.” Ben Gvir called the judges a disgrace and vowed to change nothing. Image In other words, Israel’s Supreme Court ruled that the government is starving its 11,000+ Palestinian prisoners, about a third of whom have not been charged. If you haven’t seen this yet, that’s because not a single major US paper has picked up the story.

Why are you all saying that Donald Trump is dead I am trying to track an insane story about Israeli soldiers potentially being captured during a massive Hamas ambush in Gaza, and you’re telling me Trump is dead?

🧵Quick thread on Ynet’s report about the “West Bank sovereignty plan” settler leaders are pushing Netanyahu to adopt, based on a previously unreported meeting the PM held last week. Image The question has always been: if Israel declares sovereignty over the West Bank, where exactly will it do it? Just the settlements? The whole territory, risking international condemnation? Only the eastern border, under the guise of “security”? Now a new plan has been revealed.

I told this unhinged creep that if he tweeted about Layla or the other young women who accused him of harassment and filed No-Contact Orders against him again, I’d release our DMs. I reminded him that every time he does, he terrifies them and triggers rape and death threats. He said, among many other insane things, "Don't threaten me unless you are willing to back up your threats with action. Don't start wars you cannot finish." Psychotic. Anyway, it took him exactly one day to share a fucking powerpoint deck naming them, showing their photos, and calling them "terror supporters"--including a 19-year old female student. I DM’d him yesterday to delete the tweet and remove their names, and he ignored it. So anway, here he is accidentally contradicting his new narrative by admitting that he "lost his job" at Columbia because of the investigation that Layla and his other accusers launched against him.Image

I spoke to Layla about this. She knows he’ll likely go after her even harder now, but she told me to go ahead—she thinks it’s more important to expose the extent of his creepiness than to shield her own name.

To reiterate, I don’t want to be doing this. I’d much rather focus on freeing 16-year-old Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim from Israeli prison and on other work. But this guy simply cannot control himself, and ignoring him just means he keeps terrorizing young women unchecked.

Biden officials David Satterfield and Jacob Lew (now a @ColumbiaSIPA professor, shockingly) introduce a fascinating new theory in their piece for @ForeignAffairs: Biden’s unconditional support for Netanyahu’s genocidal war prevented a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Image After October 7, we had to give Israelis the space to deal with their trauma by starving the Palestinians. Image

🚨Help Free 16-year-old Palestinian American Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim from Israeli Prison🚨

So much of what’s happening in Palestine feels out of our control, but this is a chance to make a real, material difference.

Yesterday I spoke with Mohammed's father, Zaher, about his son and their fight to free him from Israel's notoriously brutal Megiddo prison. I’ll be sharing clips from that interview along with tools to send letters to Huckabee, Rubio, and your Senators. His family is worried for his life and completely desperate to get him home, and they believe enough public pressure could actually move the US gov't to action. Please look for the links below, and share widely.Image

"They took my son away. We can do nothing about that. But can you give us something back, give us some happiness back? Can you at least get Muhammad out of jail?”

Here’s Mohammed’s father—and uncle of Sayfollah Musallet, who was beaten to death by settlers last month—recounting what Sayfollah’s father told Mike Huckabee when the two men met him: one seeking justice for his murdered son, the other fighting to free his son from military detention.

🧵It's nice that the Times decided to cover the explosion of settler violence in the West Bank, but I'm going to tell you everything that's wrong with the article. Image The core issue is the framing. This isn’t about “extremist” settlers or isolated cases of “arson” and “land grabs.” These are the deliberate and inevitable results of a fundamental shift in West Bank governance—engineered by Smotrich and backed by Netanyahu—that set them in motion.Image

An off-duty IDF soldier shot and killed a Palestinian in Duma today. Same pattern as always: settlers set up an illegal outpost beside a village, carry out regular pogroms, Palestinians eventually confront them, and settlers and/or soldiers open fire. Image Israeli media immediately spins it as “Palestinian terrorists attacking a ‘Jewish farm’”—their cutesy name for outposts run by the most violent settlers. Soon enough, the government will send them more weapons to “protect themselves.” Image

Shit like this happens every single day in the West Bank: Israeli soldiers stopped a 25-year-old at a checkpoint in Sebastia, beat him, stole his phone, filmed him at gunpoint saying “I love Israel” and “I will do everything they ask of me,” then posted the video to his Facebook. Image The Azem family had me over for cookies and coffee last time I was in Sebastia. Kind, warm people who just want to live in peace.

An ex-Israeli spy tied to Iran-Contra who’s lobbied for Mugabe, Myanmar’s junta & Sudan’s generals is pushing to install a former PA official & businessman with ties to Trump allies as Gaza’s post-war governor, backed by $53B in Gulf money. Says it would be “good for the Jews.” Image Could be nothing or could be a very big story. Broken by @HashomrimOrg and @YediotAhronot.

Update: A judge refused to extend Yinon Levi's house arrest because evidence the police gathered "strengthened Levi's claim" that "the shots he discharged from his pistol were not the shots that killed Hathaleen." I think we'll see footage of him back in Umm al-Khair any day now. She added that his claims of self-defense had been boosted by evidence collected from the “other side.” She said, “There is no argument that an incident of dozens of participants who threw stones toward the respondent was prevented.”

🧵My jaw is still on the fucking floor after reading Jenn Counter’s “Rules of Offensive Influence” — an unapologetic playbook for psychological warfare — that is published on Columbia’s website.

I'm going to share some excerpts, then post the whole thing.

As you read, keep in mind, Counter serves as both a “Subject Matter Expert” for Safe Reach Solutions — the firm overseeing GHF’s operations in Gaza — and, according to Columbia's website, a “Course Associate” in the Strategic Communications department at the School of Professional Studies. She introduces her 16 rules for "strategizing and implementing an influence campaign" by clarifying that "even tactical military propaganda should support a longer-term strategy and goal to be most impactful." I'm not sure that people realize how abnormal it is for journalists to be killed in wars. More have been killed in Gaza (232) than in the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War (+Cambodia and Laos), the Yugoslav wars, and the Afghanistan war, combined. Image In Iraq, 285 journalists were killed in 22 years. That's 13 per year, compared to about 13 per month in Gaza. Source: Brown Costs of War Project watson.brown.edu/costsofwar/fil…

Oh I see—it's a coordinated rollout: the IDF, GHF, and complicit outlets like @Jerusalem_Post are all pushing the new line: yes, there's starvation, but it’s the UN’s fault for refusing to play nice with the GHF. Expect this talking point to be everywhere soon. The JPost article I’m referencing:

Hello. Did somebody say they needed a heartwarming story from the coronavirus era? Okay, fine.

Let me start by saying that I am not a particularly melodramatic guy, but I just don’t know how to tell this story without turning to pure mush. (1/11) For those who saw my post the other day… on Wednesday I went out for a walk in Domino Park after several days of feeling stir crazy and lonesome in my apt — in addition to everything going on, it’s been a rough few months for me personally. I HAD A TOUGH BREAKUP OKAY? (2/11)
