The thing is that much of what Trump does is just point out the obvious things that were classically considered to be “impolitic” to discuss Everybody KNEW that European nations and the EU itself basically doesn’t have a military and mooches its security off of the US… you just weren’t supposed to say it because it makes them feel self-conscious
