This kind of CBC 'analysis' is embarrassing. Don't they keep clippings files at the parliamentary bureau?

Dear @althiaraj and other Ottawa insiders. Out here in the sticks in Calgary, we spend a lot of time producing the energy that heats your houses, runs your transportation. Unless you report on things like the second plane, we don't know about this stuff. @althiaraj So ask yourself: we knew about this ridiculous second plane and all the stuff he was flying around. Why did we decide not to report it? You can't claim a shortage of resources or staff cutbacks or the short news cycle.

Gerry, once you start a progressive bidding war you can't win it. Chrétien, Martin were smart enough to realize that. In 2015, you guys were the progressives in the race. I keep hearing people recommend that the role of Min of Justice be separated from the role of Attorney General. This is an issue I've been thinking about for more than 20 years, since I ran across it as a PhD student. Some thoughts. First, it's not clear to me that a PM can do this without legislation. The DoJ Act makes the Min of Justice ex officio the AG for Canada.

I have been thinking more about legacies, even though I think the whole concept is overrated. Thesis: Harper’s legacy was to make consumption taxes toxic. Cutting the GST was a real turning point. Trudeau’s effort to reverse the GST cut with this carbon tax is proving politically untenable.
