Mini 🧵 on supporting students with revision. 1/ Usually at this point in the year, lots of schools pay for some external revision skills people to come in and do a day of teaching students how to revise for exams. Some schools do in house assemblies on revision 2/ Schools that do this well, do it at about September and subjects plan this into their curriculum. Subjects explicitly teach students the effective revision strategies that work for the subject, model how to do this well, make revision plans with students…

Thread on whole school reading
1. In the last 3 months, I have written a whole school literacy strategy document for my school and revamped our reading and intervention programmes. We now talk about phonics intervention, reading fluency intervention... 2. We don't just look at reading ages, we now look at SAS, SC and PC data from our NGRT reading tests. The data is not just for our whole school lead, all staff now have access to them through SIMS
