This painting of a young woman breastfeeding an old man in a prison cell was sold for Euros 30 million. The painting may look perverse but the story behind is amazing. #Thread
The poor man was sentenced to "death by starvation" for stealing a loaf of bread during the reign of King Louis XIV in France. The woman was his only daughter and the only visitor allowed to visit him in his cell. She was searched thoroughly such that no food was taken in.
When after 4 months the man still survived with no weight loss, the authorities were perplexed and started spying on her in the cell and to their utter astonishment found her to breastfeed her father to the fullest sharing her baby's milk.

10 Habits That Can Ruin Your Life

#Thread

1. Procrastinating

Procrastination is the thief of time, collar him.

You can also set a timer on your phone for 15 minutes and commit to doing your task until it goes off, usually just starting will give you momentum
2. Comparison

Comparison can truly ruin your life. Even when you experience positive things, the victories will be hollow.

There will always be other people with “better” circumstances than you.

Remind yourself that we are all human. No one is perfect.
3. Thinking Instead of Doing

Do u spend more time thinking about doing a task than it would actually take to just do it?

If there is something you’ve been needing to do for a while do it today or schedule it in your calendar right now & stop wasting your mental energy on it.

8 THINGS PEOPLE LEARN TOO LATE IN LIFE

=THREAD=
1. Life is not the same for all

You don’t have to follow the pattern of getting a degree at 21, or getting a job at 22, or getting married at 25.

Life is different for everyone. It’s totally okay to follow your own feelings.
2. Quality over quantity

1 quality relationship will give you much more satisfaction than a 100 hookups.

Always focus on quality. Stop compromising.

Rules to live a good life

A THREAD

1. Focus on what you can control.

In life, so many things are gonna happen to you that will be totally out of your control.

But what you can always control is your reaction to those situations.

Focus on that, and you will be good to go.
2. You control how you respond to things.

Victor Frankl also said, "Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

That sums it up.
3. Ask yourself, “Is this essential?”

As the popular notion goes, if it doesn't matter in 5 years, don't spend more than 5min being upset about it.

You only have limited time, so it's important for you to determine what actually is crucial for you in life.

10 tips to make the most out of your 20s

1. Face Your Fears

Life is meant to live fully.

It’s not meant to live with fears.

Stop running away from your fears.

Come face to face with them. Conquer them.

It’s your cheat code to strength, courage, and confidence.
2. Forgive Yourself

The burden of your mistakes will bury you alive.

Get rid of them.

The more you hold on to them, the duller your life becomes.

Instead, learn from them and learn to let them go.
3. Don't Give a Fuck

People are unhappy because they're afraid of what others think about them.

The solution?

Understand that everyone is going to die one day.

No one is going to remember what you did.

Set yourself free.
