Main finding of my research with @ukonward: after decades of liberalising politics there has been a sea change in attitudes. By a ratio of ~2-to-1 voters want a society based on more security, not more freedom #politicsofbelonging ukonward.com/thepoliticsofb… It is true for every age group, every region, for Remain & Leave voters. This isn't just nostalgia: we find people are open to change, inc. greater gender equality, because they think the system is stacked against people like them. But they don't like the liberal change on offer.
