Tomorrow I’m opening my first grocery store in a Title One school. I doubt I sleep tonight - imagine a parent between checks who can order dinner and breakfast for their family thru our app and their child bring it home. I’m changing lives man, no one does it like me. Just wait! Before Picture!

A year ago today, I nervously announced my pregnancy. At the time, one of my former male colleagues/friends said it was “the worst time in my career to have a baby.” So here’s a thread of all I’ve done since. Reminding people today that a woman’s body isn’t up for discussion! ImageImage I’ve landed two five-figure brand endorsement deals with Fortune 100 companies; I led @TheGoodrCo to exceed revenue expectations two years in a row, we got our first multi-year- multimillion-dollar contract, I doubled the team size, I wrote a children’s book out next month 😊...

I’ve got an announcement to make...

I’m having a baby 🤰🏾!

After a myomectomy - removing 13 fibroid tumors, a ruptured cyst that caused me to lose one ovary and one fallopian tube and a less than 20% chance of ever conceiving. God has blessed us and my baby is on the way. I’ve went back and forth about sharing this news for months. Honestly, I’ve been worried that no one will invest in me or that my current investors would be mad and that I would lose something I’ve worked so hard for. It’s sad that I’ve even had that worry but it’s my reality.

This morning I had a meeting with a VC fund not a partner but an associate. Which now I’m sure I never want to take again, but I digress. The meeting started off as any VC call would.
Me: company background, tech, traction, revenues ect.
Him: Fund size, deal size ect... And here’s what has me both sad and mad. After saying how great the company was he said and I quote verbatim. “We just invested in another black female founder last year, so I don’t think we’ll do another deal until later this year- when are you raising.” I was shocked.
