Criminal laws have to be sufficiently specific so that citizens are on fair notice of what conduct is illegal and to ensure that constitutionally protected activities are not made criminal. 2/5
That is especially true regarding activities protected by the First Amendment. Courts want to ensure that laws do not have a “chilling effect” on lawful speech/assembly/petitions/religion.

To the surprise of no one, @molmccann hit the nail on the head. I'd add that this is the perfect example of completely misleading and dishonest reporting by @adamgoldmanNYT and his cronies at the #FailingNewYorkTimes.
