I just did a last minute swap to the reading for my Medieval Religion, Medicine, and Magic course. I decided to put in some blog posts by doctoral students in various stages of research, to show students how ideas are born, grow, & get refined. Excited to see how it goes!

Wowowow I just discovered that Starship Titanic is on Steam. A lot of high school feels about that game. I played this for a bit this morning before getting down to my research tasks for the day, and it's very much a weird flashback to a very particular part of my life in high school. Douglas Adams sure did like to start adventures by destroying the protagonist's house, didn't he?

While reading aloud from a history textbook in 5th grade, I accidentally said "Fart Duquesne" instead of "Fort Duquesne." Twice. When the teacher pointed it out to me I ran screaming to the bathroom in embarrassment Coda: this nearly literally happened again in grad school, I will never forget my my advisor’s face the first time I pronounced eminent historian Walter Goffart’s name out loud in discussion

I've watched a lot of Hannibal while working over the past two days, and I'm really curious about how one starts a career in the High Aesthetic Murder division of the FBI A double major in art history and forensic anthropology is my guess.

Taking the LIRR home after a shitty day. While driving to therapy I hit a bed frame that must have fallen off someone’s roof and blew two tires. Then my battery died when I left the hazards on too long. No therapy for Jenn today (when I really could have used it too, lolsob), but I have to say that seeing the RVC cathedral on my train ride home makes it a little better (small medievalist thread coming)
