Some folks have sent and asked me about this piece. Basically since the book “Not in Our Genes” in 1984 there is a template for the “eviscerating” critique of whatever behavioral scientists do with genetics that just gets rehashed over and over 🧵nybooks.com/articles/2022/…
One prong is “old wine in new bottles”, which is to cast whatever is going on now as a retread of phrenology / eugenics / Spencerian social Darwinism, etc.

Stanford’s honor code system is basically designed to instruct students that they are part of an elect for which institutions will bend over backwards to give them the benefit of the doubt at every turn for the rest of their lives.
Proctoring and such is not allowed. Basically anything that does not make it as easy as possible for students to cheat if they wish is not allowed.
