Utrecht University @UniUtrecht in the Netherlands has withdrawn itself from the World University ranking @THEworldunirank provided by @timeshighered. As this has generated quite some reactions - praise, questions, some doubts, I want to provide some context. 1/8 Yesterday the @UNESCO delegates unanimously accepted 41c/22, the open science recommendation document. That is a landmark as it makes open science a more global endeavour en.unesco.org/science-sustai…. But what is it about? There is quite a lot in there. A short thread to recap.
