What comes first? Will of the people or writ of the state as defined and decided by a handful of people in drawing rooms?
Was the British Raj a state? Were the application of Sedition laws rule of law?
What's a state if the majority feels disenfranchised?
If the "state" decides they don't like what the will of the majority is, what kind of state are we left with?
If the "state" decides to red line someone because they feel he/she is popular & not compromised to stay in their control, then registering 100 FIRs is rule of law?

Since Aprils regime change the following has gone down in the land of the pure. 1. People coming out across Pakistan spontaneously on their own. 2. Overseas Voters practically disenfranchised and EVM abolished. 3. NAB laws changed to neuter NAB.
4. FIA cases going into cold storage with prosecutors and witnesses passing away one after the other. 5. Usurping power in Punjab through lotacracy and a fake vote to install Hamza as CM.

As a student of history, ive always wondered why certain people were colonized whilst some managed to withstand the colonial onslaught between the 18th and 20th centuries. In particular how a sub continent with such a large population and an economy whose GDP was 24%
Of global GDP in 1700 could be taken over with relative ease by essentially a trading company. Of course we know of the Mir Jafars, fragmentation, infighting etc. But at some core level , why was there no significant resistance for almost a century.
