But the Obama policy you describe is not the Trump zero tolerance policy. Equating them is false and journalistic malpractice. @McClatchyDC @FrancoOrdonez @anitakumar01 That section describes a policy that is wholly separate from Trump’s policy. As a former fact-checker, this never would’ve made it past my desk. Because of your malpractice thousands or even millions of people will see the headline and use it to justify Trumps heinous policy.
