Earlier this year, I began looking at how the school board overseeing Colorado's largest district spends money

Here's what I found: Denver's school board spent more than $43K (as of April) on consultants to help mediate directors' disagreement

A big chunk of the $$ went to a therapist. But the board wouldn't answer many questions about her work, saying such info is “privileged"

Colorado's Gov. Jared Polis on what is different now vs last year during COVID surges when it comes to policy decisions related to curbing transmission.

CO has fewer ICU beds now than last year as @MegWingerter reports. There are only 80 beds open statewide. A reminder that Colorado's surge last year was very deadly. A quarter of the then-nearly 4,000 COVID-related deaths came in just three weeks between mid-November and early December

Hi 👋🏼We've given you a lot of content -- from stories to a podcast to an event -- on Alzheimer's disease in the past week. It's a lot and you might have missed some of it, so here's a rundown of our series "Mourning the Living."

First the stories: Alzheimer's has weaved its way through two, maybe three, generations of the Sanchez family. Read how within a year, two parents became the next to be diagnosed with the disease: dpo.st/2PqWEc4
