I've been talking a lot about Foam, note-taking, networked thought and similar, but how to use these tools and methodologies isn't obvious, and why I'm excited about them.
I think the easiest way to explain this is to show, not tell.
Here's my notes for today:
(THREAD 🧵👇)
For the past 2 weeks I've been building Foam, the tool you see above. Today, I wanted to get out from the weeds of fixing bugs and think about the big picture.
So I went out for a walk on the canal with a mission to figure out, what do I want Foam to be.

I've built something I've thought of for a long time, and it's finally ready for preview! 🚀
Foam is a personal knowledge management and sharing system built on VS Code and GitHub 🧠
I wanted to build something for myself that optimised for powerfulness rather than simplicity, and it's hard to beat the power of the open source ecosystem and tools!

What time is it? RANT TIME.
You know what really pisses me off? Goddamn REACT, that's what. I've been working with React for the last few years, and it's the most BORING piece of technology EVER and it's ruining the fun of being a UI developer.

How are people supposed to see how smart we are when we’re writing the one language out there that everybody knows?

So many great talks at @ReactAmsterdam today. Haven't been to a conf as an audience member for a while, and it's given me time to think about the art of public speaking.

Everyone has great content and interesting things to say. But sometimes we can subconsciously undermine our effect by falling into easy traps.
Here are some speaker "don'ts" to be mindful to avoid. None of these are subtweeting a particular talk.
