Once known for their failed immigration policy, last year Sweden achieved the unthinkable:

Net-negative immigration.

This is how Sweden's moderates and the populist-right worked together to reverse their country's immigration mistakes. 🧵 Image In 2024, immigration numbers around the world were reaching record highs, except in Sweden.

"For the first time in over 50 years, Sweden has net emigration," their Minister for Immigration announced.

This was done to "strengthen integration and reduce social exclusion." Image

Australia has just passed one of the most restrictive laws on speech in the world.

It is now shockingly easy to be charged with a hate crime, even without intent.

If JD Vance wants America's allies to respect free speech, then the Australian government is openly defying them. The Criminal Code Amendment (Hate Crimes) Act 2025, passed last week, now includes "force" alongside "violence."

This means even advocating for a popular Trump policy—like deportations—could be deemed a hate crime under the new law.

Australia has just undergone one of the largest mass immigration experiments in its history.

And it was by no means an accident.

Here's how one meeting led to 1.4 million migrant arrivals, a generational housing crisis, and a cost of living crisis. In September 2022, with the pandemic ending and borders reopening, industry representatives from across Australia rushed to Canberra for a 'Skills Summit'.

The reason: Border closures had meant less migrants, leading to a so-called 'skills crisis.' Image

In 2019, Denmark underwent a 'Paradigm shift' on immigration.

Their focus shifted from integration to "return to the countries of origin".

This was done under a left-wing Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen. Image In a speech in the Folketing (Danish parliament) in 2019, Frederiksen laid out what made Denmark great: trust.

The emphasis on trust is important, because it's influences their position immigration later.

(I urge you to read the speech in full, it's great) Image

Is mass immigration changing democratic outcomes in Australia? The data says so, in a surprising way.

Quick thread 🧵👇 Data from the Department of Home Affairs shows that 192,947 migrants became Australian citizens in 2023 -- the largest group being from India, at 40,361.

By becoming citizens, they gained the right to vote in State and Federal elections. Image

Recently for the Spectator, I wrote about Declan Cutler, a 16 year old who was stabbed over 50 times in a random attack in Melbourne by a 'gang of teenagers'.

Afterwards, one attacker googled "Is hell guaranteed for a Muslim who commits murder?" Image Another teenager, Jason Langhans, was stabbed to death by an Afghani asylum-seeker for trying to stop him from gatecrashing a party.

This happened in a small regional coastal town outside of Melbourne. Image

Friday whitepill: Young people are increasingly voting for “far-right” parties.

Sweden Democrats: 22% (18-21)
Finns Party: 29% (18-29)
AfD: 24% (18-30)

Young people are increasingly rejecting the liberal immigration policies of their parents. They want housing, culture and law and order. Interestingly - but perhaps not surprisingly - the younger they are, the further right they are.

Mock polls in Sweden showed 20.87% of those aged 13-18 voted for Sweden Democrats, second only to the Moderate Party (27%). Image

For what it's worth, Muslims make up 3.2% of the general population, 9% of the prison population, and 0.1% of the Australian Defence Force. According to NSW Electoral Data, of the top 5 electorates for unemployment in NSW, all have well above average pop. of Muslims (12.5%+).

Bankstown, which has the highest concentration of Muslim people (37.5%), has the second highest unemployment rate (7.5%).

Early 2000s television wasn't amazing by sheer coincidence. It was great because for whatever reason, all of the writers realised the same thing at the same time.

That their world - the world they and their ancestors knew - was on its way out. This feeling struck a chord. 🧵 Image The Sopranos is a story about leadership in a dying tradition.

In the first episode, Tony tells his therapist "It's good to get in on the ground floor. I came in too late for that, I know. But lately I'm feeling, I came in at the end."

Remember when @AlboMP and the Labor party pretended that they would would lower migration to help Australian workers and then once in office proceeded to immediately lift Australia’s migrant intake to its highest level ever because their business donors told them to? Image @AlboMP Interestingly, the members for business lobby groups like ACCI and BCA donated equal amounts to both Liberal AND Labor party last election.

Why did they donate the exact same amount to competing parties? Surely they didn’t expect anything in return?
