I cannot explain to you how incredibly wrong this is. This is not a "wide consensus" held by anyone other than maybe David Irving. He just pulled it out of his ass and it's uncomfortably close for trying to shift blame for the holocaust away from the Nazis. There is only one reason why people attempt to "debate" the origins of the holocaust and it's always in bad faith, something that this man's entire career knows well.

Chomsky denies the Bosnian Genocide outright and defended claims made in the book "The Politics of Genocide" which frame the RPF and the Tutsis as the prime aggressors of the Rwandan Genocide. Writers Edward S. Herman and David Peterson (who wrote The Politics of Genocide) pretty freely engage in what is known as "Genocide distortion" which seeks to twist the facts of a Genocide rather than deny it outright.

Since military mental health is raging through Twitter I guess it is a good time to share my story. Tens of thousands, maybe more, people have read the Hooligans of Kandahar, but pretty much nobody knows what happened when I got home. When I got back to Hood I was mentally and physically broken. I had constant headaches, intrusive thoughts, and crippling back pain. I had to be helped out of my bed to go to work every day. I fell into mentally and physical abusive relationships and ghosted my own family
