PSA thread for those who think we should phase out/prohibit natural gas in favor of all electric:
Yesterday we had a power outage in my area of SoCal, caused by the intense storms over the previous few days.
More than 1700 homes were affected for at least 8 hours. 1/6
Unlike a lot of homes, I have a gas range, so I could cook. And my water heater is gas-fired, so we could shower.
My furnace, while also gas-fired, has electronic ignition, so no heat. 2/6
