An important oped about a FL muni implementing regressive rates.👇
I advocate for public power. AND I think we need to be clear-eyed about muni's pitfalls. We need a system overhaul.
In that overhaul, I do fundamentally believe in public over profit. orlandosentinel.com/opinion/editor…
We need to fight on two fronts: 1/ take over private utilities that fail us & put in community hands so we can accelerate a transition that, built on pillars of democratic public ownership, justice, and decarbonization.

Over the past year, I've been having conversations with folks across the country about how we can rebuild our crumbling infrastructure so it is climate resilient & start to redesign cities for climate justice. I wanted to highlight some of the amazing examples out there. 🌳🏘️😊
