Can Don Bacon survive again?

Bacon has been in a swing district since winning it in 2016. He’s survived two tough cycles and takes on strong competition in Tony Vargas…can he hang on? Nebraska Legislature

The GOP has gone hard in attempting to get a 33 seat majority in Lincoln. If so, they could pass abortion restrictions, more tax cuts, school choice legislation and other conservative priorities.

What seats will decide this?

The room is packed for the Nebraska State Board of Education meeting in Lincoln.

The public here is to discuss the revised health and sex education standards, which many conservatives are still not happy with.

I’ll be updating this thread throughout the day. Image The 2nd draft dropped some of the controversial parts of the standards including same sex marriage and moved learning about gender identity from 4th to 7th grade, among other changes.

Getting ready to hear from Mayor Stothert and Dr. Adi Pour.

This comes on the same day the health department announced the county has a 84% hospital bed occupancy rate...the highest the county has has since the pandemic started. Dr. Adi Pour says the positivity rate is 11.6%, compared to just 7% last week.
