In 2020, I attempted to spend ten days inside a dark room on the Oaxacan coast, to explore 'darkness technology' & live without light for 240 hours.

Here's what I learned from the experience.
↓ Image In his book, 'Darkness Technology', Mantak Chia describes how the dark causes melatonin to synthesize into 'Pinoline'.

This eventually (after 6 days) synthesizes into DMT & 5-MeO-DMT (yes, the same as the infamous 🐸 venom) ...leading to endogenous mystical experiences. Image

I've been reflecting on how, for 80%+ of my breathwork clients who were experiencing symptoms of depression or lethargy... the root cause was repressed anger.

As soon as this was expressed, the depression magically lifted, and their life force returned. @kithkui This is a good song for it:

For the last few years, I've experimented with dozens of therapies, retreats, modalities & experiences (spending upwards of $55k)

After nudging from @p_millerdβ€”here's a thread outlining ten of the most impactful + what I learned.

🧡 For context: I initially dove into this world to process deep grief + loss but quickly realised that I'd been relatively repressed + numb from the neck down for most of my life.

The deeper I went, the more fascinated I became, so just kept digging πŸ‡πŸ•³οΈ

Okay, here goes πŸ‘‡

Allow me to elaborate

– X-axis: shows internal stressors (e.g. frustration) & external stressors (e.g. loud noises)
– Y-axis: shows intentional responses & unconscious responses

I just returned from a 6-night men's retreatβ€”it was one of the most profound & transformative experiences of my life.

This thread is an attempt to distil the core insights + takeaways 🧡 1/ Restoring Faith in Men πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ I have spent most of my teenage + adult life struggling to deeply connect with, fully trust or form meaningful friendships with men. I discovered that I was not alone in feeling this way.
