The #Vatican's new document today for the ongoing synod process gives a lot of attention to the role of women in the church, including calls for women's ordination as priests. Short thread: The text, which summarizes reports from Catholics in places across the world, includes some rather frank remarks. From the Holy Land:

Starting a thread of things that seem interesting in the Vatican's just-released text of #PopeFrancis' reorganization of the curia. (Text only in Italian for now).

Para 9: Francis wants to "move toward the intent of giving value to the potential" of bishops' conferences. Para 10: "The pope, the bishops and the other ordained ministers are not the only evangelizers in the church."

Flash: Vatican's doctrinal office issues note saying it is "morally acceptable" for Catholics to use #covid vaccines derived from fetal cell lines when other vaccines are not available. "All vaccinations recognized as clinically safe and effective can be used in good conscience with the certain knowledge that the use of such vaccines does not constitute formal cooperation with the abortion," states doctrinal office.
