1. Retweeting because I want to talk a little bit about photography, and how pix like these happen (cause I’m kind of amazed they exist.) And I know some of you are learning photographers ( which is all photographers, lol). ImageImageImage 2. I had a plan to shoot, started around 7 am, letting my mind wander and looking for birds. For the first half hour, no luck. The birds were around but I wasn’t getting them.

Proposal for a story that I've been thinking about for a long time: Tracing toxic/ self-destructive masculinity, negative views of feminism, the shaming of personal responsibility, AND the rise in the acceptance of LGBTQ to the syndication of the Howard Stern Show in the 1990s. Picture everything Donald Trump does as if he imagines he is doing it for 1990's on-air Howard. Then do the same exercise with George Takei. Doesn't it all start to make a little more sense?

1. Today I did the annual story on holiday decorations at the Governor's residence. I've done it every year, for years. A very light but very fun story. Every year my reporting partner was Wendi Winters. This year, it was Selene. Wendi was murdered in June. 2. Selene did a great job, of course. And I really thought I could hold it together. I moved through the rooms with my tripod, focusing on the trees and ornaments. All I could think about was Wendi. I felt like she was with me, that she was actually present.
