In a recent publication Brown and Reichenberg studied how the market value of electricity declines with extra production and how problems this causes can be alleviated by a focus on CO2 rather than forcing new low C production with subsidies. Comments 1/6 sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
They paper didn't do actual optimization but removed new nuclear power from the toolbox at the outset, because of...Germany. However, I was pleased to note that authors nevertheless showed what happens, if nuclear power is added instead of wind and solar. Check the x-axis. 2/6
