1/ Over the last few days have had a lot of conversations about both a) the severe negative impact we are seeing COVID have on enterprise companies while also b) maintaining an optimistic/bullish perspective on “the other side.”
2/ Having lived through the 08/09 crisis in Silicon Valley, my main regret was not investing more when things looked scary. Most (all?) investors from this era echo this sentiment. This crisis is different, and scarier on many levels, but “the other side” will look familiar.

Q: "What's one thing repeat founders do differently than first time?"
A: Repeat founders tend to be much more aggressive on the People front. Hiring ahead of the curve at VP level, upleveling broader team, creating compensation plans & bands, implementing performance culture.
It's hard to describe what an advantage this is, especially in a super challenging talent market like the one we have right now. First time founders tend to dramatically underestimate the value of getting ahead of the curve on hiring and building a leadership team.
