New essay: Hyperstructures

The nature of crypto protocols opens up expansive new models to create free, invaluable and unstoppable public infrastructure.

I define Hyperstructures, and why they will form the basis of the internet for decades to come.

jacob.energy/hyperstructure… Hyperstructrures are crypto protocols that are:
↳ Unstoppable
↳ Free
↳ Valuable
↳ Expansive
↳ Permissionless
↳ Positive sum
↳ Credibly neutral

Hyperstructures run entirely onchain, and can operate for as long as the underlying blockchain they're deployed on.

Loving the @cent tweet experiment play out. It’s another great NFT reference point.

They’re very clearly not the “original” because that is the live and working tweet on twitter.

The framing that most resonates is that they’re 1/1 autographed posters by @cent. The Cent Tweet NFTs are a “weaker” form of ownership compared to an artwork that’s created on @SuperRare or @niftytime
