1/9 I'm new to the VC game but here are some thoughts based on what I've seen so far.

Getting super angels & venture firms to commit $$ to your earliest pre-traction round isn't difficult.

Getting a good, engaged, and helpful lead investor is difficult. 2/9 You're ahead of the pack if you're:

A. Capable of assembling a team & shipping product. Ideas aren't enough. A weak network and unlikely ability to develop product is a major problem.

B. Rock solid on the fundamentals.

C. Enjoyable to talk to and work with.

107/ Recognize where you are in your earning years. Making a lot of money? Be a conservative planner. High income ‘too shall pass’ like everything else.

108/ Don’t blow money on stupid shit 💩. ‘Stupid shit’ is subjective but I’ll include jewelry in that classification.

1/ Career Guidance Thread:

I've been working as Product Manager for a decade now. The word 'decade' makes it sound like a long time. It doesn't feel like it, but it's a good time for some reflection 🤔. 2/ I started as an intern at a company called Bill Me Later in 2007. BML was a pioneer in the online transactional credit space... they kind of paved the way for the Blispay's, Affirm's, Bread's, of the world.

They got bought by eBay/PayPal in 2008 for almost $1 Billion.

1/ I consider myself to be relatively knowledgeable when it comes to personal finance...I’ve invested a lot of time educating myself over the years. The ~10 focuses & my beliefs will always change which is why it’s such an interesting topic. It also may be the most important. 2/ I’m going to share short and concise opinions each day and see how long I can go on for. Note that personal finance is highly.. personal. Not everything is advisable and applicable to everyone.
